What a great weekend. Joey and I both won our fights by choke. There were a ton of fans at the fight. It was really cool that everyone came out to show support.

This week has been a rest week. Im still waiting to see who I will fight on 4/8 in AC again.

Spencer Strube 9 second ko. Not muck more to say . All an all it was a good night of fights. Justin Hickey looked good tonight with a 2 round tko over Ryan Harder . Justin made the move to the tap out ranch fulltime.

I want to thank everyone who sparred with me this week. It was a good week of training. I am taking off this weekend to rest. My little girls 5th Birthday party was today at Chuckie Cheese, that was an adventure. I am looking forward to Cagetime 3 in OC. next weekend. Clinch Academy's, Paul Mann steps back into the cage. I cant wait to see him fight its been a little while. We Jessie, Rich and Jeremy from Ferocity MMA will also be on the fight card. We will have our new Jacob Kirwan MMA Shirts for sale there.

There's been a lot going on. I'm scheduled to fight Marcos Galvao on September 24, 2010, for Lou Neglia's, Ring Of Combat. Marcos is a 2 time WEC vet and a multiple time BJJ World Champion. So this should be interesting.

In the mean time, me and my Old Lady (lol) have been working on my website JacobKirwanMMA.com. So far it's up and running. Soon,hopefully within the week, we will have more on MMA Articles and video blogs. We will have "The Ring Of Combat Training Camp" video blog starting next week. You will be able to follow me as I prepare for my fight. More updates on the strength and conditioning program and progress reports on our participants. Like I said, the website is up and running, but there's plenty more to come so stay tuned.

Well im not fighting on saturday night. My brother will be fighting. Not sure when my next one is. I am just trying to improve as much as i can right now. Theres a big diff between training for a fight an training to get better. Judy is also doing a grappling tournement on saturday. Joey hughes went to US Nationals last weekend an won the advanced division for 210 lbs and above. Oh that was his FIRST grappling tournement ever. It was a great day and fun to watch.You can check out his finals match on youtube. Ryan placed second at naga to . Spencer and Thomas are fighting next weekend in virginia so we are pretty busy at clinch.

Well Iam waiting to hear who ill be fighting on June 19. The guy I was suppose to fight had to pull out. Training has been going well. Crossfit in the mornings has really helped. Its great because you dont have to worry about cardio as much and can focus on technigue when sparring and grappling. Grapplers quest is coming up. I might go if they dont find a fight for me. Its been awhile since i have grappled a real match lol.

Sorry I haven't been on here for a while. After The Shogun Fight I took a quick fight on April 30th. It went well! First round TKO. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported me!

My next fight is June 19th in Ocean City. Training has been going really well. We have been doing Strength and Conditioning now at Clinch at 6:30 AM Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Anyone interested in joining in, is welcome after running it by Luke Reinhart.

I'm looking forward to be fighting in O.C.! It should be a great show. I will keep everyone posted for tickets!

Big win last week at shogun fights. It was a tough fight but i came out on top. The weight cut was the best so far thank god lol. I took some time off this week to heel. That was the hardest training camp yet due to injurys. I am just glad the fight went well. I cant wait to get in the gym an start hitting it hard again once my body heels. I would like to thank everyone who came to the fights to support me an cole last weekend. It really helps when your fans come out an show support. THANKS

156 baby. Not to bad. The best part is i feel good. We have been working hard for this fight. Cole P fight got changed he is fighting Brian Vanhoven now. I have a great workout planned for tomo morning with luke and another Blackbelt. So im pumped about that. We had a tough wrestling practice last night. We had a good king of the matt drill going on. Joey won lol. 185 pounder that wrestles like a lightweight.

Its been a good week of training. I have been doing some wrestling at middletown HS helping Dylan get ready for states. There are some tough wrestlers there so its been great for me to help sharpen up my wrestling for my fight. We have mma tonight so im sure Luke will put us threw the ringer. My weight is good i have been weighing out at 158 after practice. I dont like to get much lower than that. I hear Cole P is on the card now. I feel sorry for the guy he is fighting lol

Great week of training. We went threw some nasty workouts this week. Im alittle beat up lol but i feel good. I am headed to the frederick county wrestling championships to night. Dylan Herrmann is in the finals so im pumped. He has worked very hard this year on his wrestling and he put time in durring the off season grappling at clinch.
Today I went to clinch for open mat and rolled with Luke an Tom at a very high pace. I felt like I was in a dogfight for an hour and a half. Tomo I am rolling with Doug M and Admar B so it will be a good roll again im sure. Ryan Mackin is coming up to sparr in the evening. That sould be fun we had some wars on the highschool wrestling mats

Happy Valentines Deedee!

This has been a good week of training. I been doing a lot of circuit training. I did a work out with Luke the other day that was crazy a lot of balancing and crawls. Been sparring and rolling with the guys from Clinch. Haven't been able to make it down to B more much do to the massive amounts of snow we had. Looking forward to starting the week and praying for clear skys.

Its sunday night and everybody is sleeping at my house and i cant. I am pumped up about training tomo. My rib is feeling alot better and we are gonna step it up alittle. Me an joey are hitting pads in the morning an in the evening. I want to wait another week or so before i start grappling.

March 27 I have a tough fight in baltimore. I will post it when i sign the contract. Its pretty much a done deal just waiting to sign. That works out perfect since Luke is getting ready for the Pan Ams.

Joey fought last night. He got caught in a guillotine early in the fight. Thats the way it goes sometimes. I think in the long run it will make him a better fighter. My rib is starting to feel a little better. I have been riding the bike to keep my cardio up. I should get back to training soon I hope. There was a lot of the fans at the fight and that was awesome. I haven't been on here much. Been down in the dumps about my rib injury that happened a couple days ago. So, I had to pull out of the fight coming up this weekend. They found another fighter for my opponent so that's good at least. Doctor said I should rest and not train for a couple weeks to let my rib heal. I'm going crazy, not being able to train. Just trying to focus on getting Joey ready for his fight this weekend. He's looking sharp. There were belt promotions last night. congratulations to everyone and to Tom for getting his Blackbelt. I'll put up some pics of the Belt Test and Promotions later.

Just got back from a last minute trip to Kentucky. We were there for 2 days. You have to be resourceful when your stuck out on a mountain and want to work out. So, I made a circuit with a huge log, a peice of firewood, Three giant tires and one steep mountain off in the middle of nowhere. We got back yesturday. Trained this morning in Fairfax. I went and rolled with Dave Jacobs. Then we hit pads at Clinch and did some of Luke's crawls.

Weel I'm fighting Dave Linder 3-2 from South Carolina. He looks like a pretty good fighter, so it should be a good test for me. We just picked up tickets today. You can call Joey Hughes 410-967-5071. Thanks Joey! Training is going well. Today was a rest day. Tomorrow, I'm doing pad work in the morning and Ju-Jitsu and MMA at night at Clinch. I should be watching theWEC fights, but direct TV kinda messed that up. Oh well I'll watch the replay. Looking forward to a good week of training. Joey and Cole are both fighting as well and there fired up, so it will be some good training.

Well the promoter called and gave me some names for possible opponents in January. So it looks like everything is gonna go through. Had a couple good days of practice. Mostly a lot of pad work and grappling. I'm looking forward to the next couple days mitts in the morning and Luke's MMA class in the evening, which is always a killer. Sparring at Baltimore Boxing on Thursday. Deer hunting on Friday. Might catch me a buck (as Cole would say.) Speaking of Cole, they are matching him up for January too.

Still waiting to see if I'm fighting same night as Joey. There trying to match me up now. We've been training hard. We watched the fights last night. thought they were great. I'm glad Rashad went back to his wrestling. I gotta admit, I wish Dustin H. would've won. I like his style. Sam Stout looked awesome. In my opinion it was his best performance yet. Went to B more yesturday work out with pro boxing coach Wade after open mat and combat challenge at Clinch. I was really impressed with all the fighters at Clinch. They showed a lot of heart and skill. Cant wait til the next one.

My fight got pushed back to February 20th. Oh well, that's part of the game. I did pad work and Ju-Jitsu this morning. My hands are feeling like they have gotten faster. My ground game feels good, my positioning feels a little rusty, but it's getting better everytime i roll. Feels good to be back at Clinch. Decided to take the night of to rest my knee. It's feeling better. Did I mention how much I hate to miss a training session. Especially in the evening.

I just got off the phone with my brother Joey, who just got a call to fight Robert Conner, who is 7-0. January 30th in Greencastle, Pa. I think it's gonna be Joey's night!

Well Christmas is over an we can get back to training. Me Joey and DD came back from the Eastern Shore this morning when we got to frederick we hit pads at clinch and then came back for Ju Jitsu and MMA class. I feel pretty good. A little rusty with the Gi on it has been a month. Still waitng to find out who I'm fighting on the 23rd. Feels good to be back in MD had a great weekend with my daughter and family. What idiots (me and Joey) hit hand pads on Christmas Eve at midnight in the living room with there girlfriend and mom watching and taking pics. Same thing on Christmas morning.

Congrats to my brother Joey on his dominating performance and win in the VFL! Hard work pays off!

Its like 4 in the morn and I cant sleep. I guess the time change is messing with me. My flight got in around 12. JJ picked me up from the airport an im staying at the gym because my car is snowed in witch works out pretty well . I gotta pick DD up at the airport tomo afternoon. We came back to the gym an talked for awhile an then we sparred at 2 in the morn for six rounds lol. Cowboy won his fight for those who dont know. It was a crazy fight that ended with him choking ratcliff in the 3 round.

We are headed to Vegas today i cant wait. Cowboy said were gonna train at Randy c gym. So that will be awsome. I always wanted to train there. prob be some good wrestlers there to push me. We had a good class this morn. We worked takedown drills for mma. My knee was bothering me alttle so I hit mits with coach Chad. He worked on a few boxing combos that he thought would be good for my style. My hands felt really good but my knee did not. im gonna ice it tonight instead of train. Man i hate missing practice because of a injury. I think it will be fine for class in the morn. i hope so its sparring and i only have a few days left

Today was a good day. We trained at ABQ kickboxing with coach Ray. I worked the same knee combos that i have been working all those years kicking carpet has helped my power. After that me an diego rolled with cowboy mma style. Cowboy feels really sharp. I look for him to do very well in his fight this weekend. I just found out I will be fighting Jan 23 in baltimore not sure who im fighting yet but they got me on the card. I am pumped to fight in maryland again. I hope we can get a few guys from clinch on the card. I leave a week from today to come home

Getting ready to watch the fights tonight. I cant wait. We are ordering them here at the house. ABQ is crazy over diego i have met alot of his child hood friends at fights an at the gym. Today was a great day of training. We sparred in the morn and grappled at night. I rolled with some high level guys tonight an did very well. Tapout hooked it up. They sent us a bunch of bags full of gear. Everyone is getting ready for the 19 when cowboy fights. It will be my first trip to vegas so i am pumped. My plane leaves from vegas on the 20. So i should be home late that night. Cant wait to train at clinch and get beat up on by luke lol

Well the weather has been kind of crazy. So training has been off an on. We trained hard yesterday morning an last night,we worked sparring with takedowns. My takedowns are feeling pretty good right now. Cowboy is looking really sharp with his standup . I am ready to watch him fight on dec 19. All our tapout gear comes today so were all pumped about that, I just hope the weather does not slow them down. We had two guys fight from the house last week. Bobby G and Eric P they both won by sub. Theres another good wrestler Kyle just got here a few days ago. Kyle was a 3x State runner up.

Well there is about 6 inches of snow on the ground training has slowed down. I drilled take downs with Carrey V last night. I almost left all my warm cloths at home thinking it would be hot. Today was a great day of training. We trained four times. A lot of grappling an stand up. Tapout is sending a camera crew out next week they want to do a show on the house. I have been at the Tapout House for a little over a week. It is a ranch full of fighters an all sorts of critters from horses to baby goats to chickens. The fighters here are very experienced and at a high level status. We train mostly at Greg Jacksons camp located in the Alberquerque area. The Pro level classes are a mixture of top notch instruction and live sparring. With 20 to 30 Pro fighters in the gym, you're most likely going to be tested to the fullest no matter your experience. Its an honer to be here an I look forward for the weeks to come
